Rethink Speech and OT Services was created by two therapists, Amy DeBello, an occupational therapist and Rebekah Strombom, a speech language pathologist.
Our Mission is to aid in RETHINKING Speech, Language and Occupational Therapy skills for adolescents and young adults with varying disabilities, who are soon transitioning from school-based services to the NEXT PHASE of life for assisted or independent living, as well as possibly entering the workforce.
Our Goal is to offer additional insight, support and services to our client's current school or day program. We hope to combine our Speech and OT skills and knowledge to develop a program to facilitate and increase functional communication and daily skills used within the home and community-based activities.
With a combined 44 years of experience between us we have found a passion for helping older adolescents and young adults to excel and improve their independence.

Rebekah received her Bachelor of Arts degree, in Communication Sciences and Disorders, from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Rebekah has 20 years of experience working with individuals of varying ages to address a range of communication deficits affected by apraxia of speech, dysarthria, aphasia, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, autism, stuttering, articulation/phonological disorders, and receptive and expressive language deficits. Recent experiences, and having collaborated for many years with OT's, PT's and other SLP's, lead Rebekah to rethink services provided to children in high school that will soon age out at 21 years of age. She appreciates the challenge presented by the different learning styles and skills of all individuals and enjoys creating a plan that optimizes learning and communication.
Rebekah is certified by the American Speech-Language Association (ASHA) and licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey. She is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets-Level 1&2), Beckman Oral Motor Intervention and Visualizing and Verbalizing by Lindamood Bell.
